Everyone has been through a storm in their life, and by storm I mean a tragic event that has scarred a place in your life, never to be forgotten, whether it be a death in the family, cancer diagnosis, or a personal tragedy. Because like a storm, damaging winds can come, maybe even a tornado and rip apart what was once familiar territory. Although those types of storms can seem devastating, they are only devastating to the physical, material things of life. Let me be the first to tell you, that’s the best type of storm that can happen to you. Unlike health-related/personal storms your house can be rebuilt, your car can be replaced, and personal items can be bought again. Family members cannot be replaced.
It was 9 years ago, a devastating event took place in my mother’s life, not to mention the toll it took on the rest of the family. My mother was diagnosed in 2000 with Breast Cancer. I can remember just like it was yesterday, standing in the kitchen by my mom, she had the phone in her hand and just received the bad news. I then began asking myself Why, why did it have to happen to MY mom? How could God allow this to happen? I was always taught never to question God, because after all who am I to question the Almighty? Weeks later, it still felt as if I was on the edge of a cliff, being forced to jump. All these questions remained unanswered, after all I never verbally asked my mom at the time. Until a couple weeks before her surgery on Valentines Day in 2001, mom was sitting on the edge of her bed, I walked in and asked her “What if you don’t wake up from your surgery?” Once again, on the edge of the cliff trying to grip anything to keep me on top. And with a straight face, and unbelievable confidence she replied “God WILL help us through!” Taking that as a satisfying answer, I continued the conversation and before I knew it, it was time for bed. That night I spent a countless amount of minutes praying asking God to heal my mother.
On Valentines Day 2001, I sat in my 5th grade class as the Valentines Day Party was going on, too emotionally drained drained to have a good time. The games and activities planned for the day didn’t seem too appealing. Then the phone rang, it was for me. I walked out into the hall, the call came from Barnes Jewish Hospital, I then learned that my mother had successfully came through her surgery well, and that she was being moved to her Private Room to rest. That news planted a smile on my face, and over threw all the worry I had inside. I walked back into the classroom, hung up the phone and began participating in what was planned for the day. It felt almost as if I was a whole new person, after all, I had received the best news I could have gotten.
This Month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and today my mother has been Breast Cancer free for almost 9 years. Still in good health and what an amazing victory story she has to tell. God has certainly worked a miracle in her life right before our very eyes. In this moment, there are over 1.5 Million women out there world wide who are seeking the proper treatment needed to rid themselves of Breast Cancer, they more than deserve it. Not only do they deserve it, but their families do as well. I owe my thanks to God, because without him I would Hate to think where I would be right now without my mother.
And to this day, I am happy to say, that I am the Son of a Breast Cancer Survivor.
With Unconditional Love, Dedicated To: My Mom, Sandy May.
But I never told you
What I should have said
No, I never told you
I just held it in
And now,
I miss everything about you
Can’t believe that I still want you
and after all the things we’ve been through
I miss everything about you
Without you
So the pain begins
As the music fades
And I’m left here with
With more than I can take
If you lift me up
Just get me through this night
I know I’ll rise tomorrow
And I’ll be strong enough to try
When the static clears
And all is said and done
I will realize
That we all need someone
If you lift me up
Just get me through this night
I know I’ll rise tomorrow
And I’ll be strong enough to try
So when you see me crashing
And there’s nowhere left to fall
Will you lift me even higher
To rise above this all
It’s becoming more and more evident to me, as time passes by, that Washington Politics is running as a Chess Game. Think about it. In chess, you have the king, queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. The President is the ‘king’, the Vice President is the ‘queen’, the ‘bishops’ are made up of supporting Congress Members, the ‘rooks’ are the czars, the ‘knights’ I’d like to think of as our Military, and the and the ‘pawns’ are Senators, in this case, Democrats. The whole point of a chess game is to keep your King safe from the opposing team’s pieces and by doing that, you use the rest of the pieces to block the other team’s game plan.
Before you start the game, you must have a plan of execution, a plan to win. Obama being the King, he must assure that he uses his Vice President, Congress, Czars, Military, and Senators to effectively play a game changing roll in his overall plan. As we all know, there is a lot of corruption in politics today. Everyone knows the direction in which the chess pieces are to be moved; traditionally the Bishop is to be moved diagonally, the Rook is to be moved vertically or horizontally, and the knights can move two squares horizontally and one square vertically, or two squares vertically and one square horizontally- in the shape of an L. Over time, in the Political World, they feel the need to change the rules. In this case, all the pieces that were once designated to be moved traditionally, can now roam free.
Instead of other threatening countries; Iraq, Afghanistan, North Korea, etc. being on the opposing team, the Citizens of America have somehow took on that role. Never before in my lifetime have I ever been so in awe at how much corruption is going on within my Country, within the Chess Game. The President can justify his moves and plan based on his own ideological agenda, but it’s clear that if he got the Rule Book out, if he even bothered to read The U.S. Constitution, the political world would be turned upside down, never to be the same again. There’s a common misconception in Politics and America that if something has been done a certain way for so many years that way automatically takes precedence over tradition.
If the People of the United States sit down and let the Chess Pieces of our corrupted government move like wildfire, it is our own fault at the negative, life changing, side effects we will have to deal with on a daily basis. Not to mention the debt in which our children and our children’s children will have to pay back. It’s time we engrave Checkmate in Obama’s vocabulary.
Aside from the game, there’s also the person who is in Control of the game, the two people playing against each other. Obama is an educated man, there’s no doubt about it. He has a motive for running this country in the ground, he can only deliver the message, yet not so good about defending it. There’s a void in his presence, as if there should be another person at his side. As previously mentioned the People of the United States are in one seat, but who is invisibly to the American People’s eye sitting in the other?

Let me ask all you Christians out there a question.
What did it feel like to have the President of the United States, a man who is supposed to be representing you, say that “America is not a Christian Nation!” Are you just going to over-look this event, just like you have all the rest? Are you going to try to put reason to such a shocking attack on you, not only as a christian, but God himself. I assure you, God himself is ashamed of you.
Let me ask all you Democrats out there a question.
What is wrong with you? During the last presidential election, you couldn’t get past the $150,000 clothing bill the RNC funded for Sarah Palin. You all thought she just lived in a bubble up in Alaska not knowing how the rest of the country worked. You’ve been in Washington forever, and you and our current administration are sending our country to hell, what’s your excuse? On the campagin trail, Palin went to buy diapers for her baby at Wal Mart, but when is the last time you shopped at Wal Mart? Can’t remember the last time? That’s what I thought.
Let me ask all you STARCHED Democrats a question.
If the Devil himself ran for President on a Democratic Ticket, would you vote for him anyway? What’s it going to take to erase party lines and bring forth values, beliefs, past experience, and future intentions. Need I remind you that you are no help to our country’s success and it would be better that you never step foot in a voting booth again, rather than only voting Democrat, ignoring what each candidate represents.
Let me ask all you Republicans out there a question.
Are you just going to sit back and let this radical, leftist, administration headed by a former Community Organizer tank your party? Are you going to let everything George W. Bush did for the past 8 years in terms of the War on Terrorism go down the drain? Whether you know it or not, you’re in a political coma, you’re on Life Support. Someone get the defibrillator.
Let me ask all you Wealthy Millionaires/Billionaires out there a question.
Are you going to let a former Community Organizer making less than $30,000 a year tax your business to death, alter your profit margins, fire your CEO’s, force you to take stimulus money (and then tell you what to do with it), or throw your business into bankruptcy. Donald Trump, are you going to allow this man to tax you out of New York? If you do, you damn well deserve it.
Let me ask all you Financially Struggling, Single Mothers and Fathers out there a question.
Are you finding it harder and harder for your paycheck to cover the expenses to provide a good life to your children? Do you ever find yourself awake at night wondering how much longer you’re going to have a roof over your children’s head? What would they think if Mommy or Daddy could no longer provide, if not mom and dad, who can your kids turn to? Are you finally coming to term with reality, kiss the American Dream goodbye!
